My name is Phil Gallagher and I have been a professional photographer for just over twenty years now, lucky enough to be working with clients from all over the world. I was born on the east coast of Australia with sand between my toes, and it was my love of the ocean that first drew me to picking up a camera and documenting my boyhood adventures with friends each weekend. After travelling the world for many years seeking out remote surfing locations and capturing monumental discoveries for numerous publications, brands and athletes, my most significant project took shape; fatherhood.
I now call the beautiful Byron Shire of northern NSW home where I can share this love of the ocean with my three young children and amazing wife, Cara. I find myself forever chasing fleeting moments of water and light colliding while drawing inspiration from the perpetual shifts in tone, shadow and colour our oceans offer. Being able to connect and share my work with people all over the world is a joy that I never tire of.
